Maldives

This is our Atoll - we are staying at Adaaran Select Hudhuran Fushi in the Maldives.

It is part of the North Male Atoll. Our beach villa is on the Eastern side - the upper right hand side of the above picture. We had a swim in the sheltered waters this afternoon. Weather is hot and humid as expected.

Today started early with a boat trip out beyond the protective reef to seek out dolphins in the Indian Ocean - and we got lucky. Found a couple of pods and they gathered around the boat. During the day we swam many times in the crystal clear water just outside our Villa. The water is so warm, just perfect for me. Late afternoon we again boarded a boat to view the sunset. It was quite cloudy but I “captured” the sun as it set. The evening buffet was themed “Maldivian” so we tasted an assortment of new foods, all very tasty.

Sunset

Yesterday we visited a nearby Island which has no Resort, so it was a traditional Maldivian village. We saw very few people, so it was just us 2 and our guide out in the blazing sun. We saw their school, Mosque, fish drying factory and boat building area. In the afternoon we swam and lazed under the palm trees. Dinner last night was at the Sunset Restaurant which is built over the water, and saw 4 baby sharks swimming around whilst we ate.

Boat on way to Island, the water truly is this colour.
